Second week of Trimester 3

Students are back at work and the grade 12 classes have just finished their English EMSA exams.

This is a short trimester so the first IST assignments will be finished next week.

I am including the poster for the February "Students of the Week" Congratulations to all the winners.

I hope everyone had a relaxing break and is ready to finish up the year on a positive note.

The grade 12 class will not need an ecart folder for this trimester. ADEC wants only the IST and the product/speech done for the class work. the rest of the mark is from the ADEC exam mark.

Remember the second chance for the  EMSA exam is next week. We will be reviewing for the exam this week. Please come to class.

Time for exams and for all classwork to be handed in.

Go to the January post to find the file for your grad if you have not handed in your ecart. Print it out and fill in as much as possible. I need these by Tuesday if you want a good mark.

MOE and CEPA exams Coming Up

FEB 19, 2014

The students have been working on the themes (Sports in the UAE- Grade 11 and Ancient Civilizations and the Modern World- Grade 12). The grade 11 classes will be handing in their second IST (A brochure on Camel Racing )on Feb 19th and the Grde 12 class will be working on their newstory for their end of term project (Due March 9).

All students should be polishing up their eCarts as they will be taken in the first week of March. I have seen a real improvment in most of the ecarts this term.

Welcome Back to Term 2

January 8 2014

I hope everyone had an excellent winter term break. We are starting up with the Grade 11 classes doing a unit on Sports in the UAE and the Grade 12 class will be studying Ancient Civilizations.

Each student will be getting a package of activities that we will be doing this semester. Hopefully by having everything together, there will be less chance of losing the assignments. I will also be setting up a link that will have the complete package available to students, in case their work gets misplaced.

I hope this trimester turns out well for all my students. Remember, I can only mark the work you hand in to me. If I have no work, I cannot give a passing mark. So come to class, everyday, and do all the assignments and had in you ecart on time. This will make your school time very rewarding.

The grade 11 classes should be coming in to finish up any assignments or ecarts they have not handed in for marks. Several students are failing this trimester simply because they did not hand in their assigned work or their ecarts.

If you want to know what your current mark is, come into the school and check on the wall in the class for your mark.

Remember, I cannot give you a mark if you have not done the work. PLEASE bring in your work, before it is too late and the markbook is closed by ADEC.
