Another week Finished

Sept 18
The boys in grade 11 now have a final schedule and we will be doing our first vocabulary exam on Sunday. Please study your vocabulary sheets in your folder.
If you do not have a folder and notebook, please get one this weekend.
I am including a link to some Phonics games the students can use for improving their speaking and reading skills. Feel free to use this at home.

Grade 12 boys have been working on their biography and next week they will be writing a good version of it. They should make sure they have the notes in their notebooks. If they do not have a notebook or folder they should get one this weekend.

I have included a template or example of a Sample Resume
Please use this to develop your own Resume that will include information about you.

Another week finished

Sept 11

It has been another busy week, and the schedule and class lists are almost finalized.

The grade 11 classes have begun work on their vocabulary and first readings. The Theme is Citizenship and Civic Responsibility.  Hopefully students are studying their vocabulary at home.

The grade 12 classes are looking at Careers for their theme this trimester. The students who came to class on Thursday produced posters relating to the career they are interested in. These posters will be displayed in the classroom. We begin our readings, writing, and vocabulary work next week.

End of First Week

August 4

Well we have finished our first week of classes and I would sincerely like to thank the students who came to class this week. It was the best start of the year I have had at Al Qua'a.

We completed the baseline tests for all the student who have attended class this week, however that still leaves about 50% of each class still to go. I will have those students finish the tets next week as we begin our first unit.

As in previous years, I will be providing links to handouts and powerpoints or websites I use in class so students can work on their assignments from home, or if they miss a class.

Have a wonderful weekend and see you on Sunday.
